About GAD Midsayap

About Us

GAD Midsayap is the official Gender and Development platform of the Local Government Unit of Midsayap, advancing gender equality, women’s empowerment, and inclusive local governance. It translates national GAD laws and policies into local action, ensuring that gender perspectives guide planning, budgeting, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of programs and projects.

Guided by the leadership of GFPS Chair, Municipal Mayor Rolando “Rolly – Ur Da Man” Sacdalan, CPA and GFPS Vice Chair and GAD Focal Person, Mr. John Karlo D. Ballentes, RSW, MMPA, GAD Midsayap carries forward the vision of “Galing ng Midsayap”—championing equitable opportunities, responsive services, protection of rights, and meaningful participation of all genders, especially women and vulnerable sectors. A dedicated GAD Unit serves as Secretariat for the GFPS, ensuring smooth coordination and effective implementation of all initiatives.

GADFPS of Midsayap commits to ensuring, promoting, and initiating relevant, effective, and sustainable measures for equal access and opportunities, empowering women, and creating a gender-responsive environment.

GAD Goals

  • To establish a knowledge center on gender and development.

  • To adopt/exercise good governance that prioritizes gender equality and women’s empowerment creating a more inclusive and equitable society.

  • To federate all sectoral groups with corresponding budget allocation.
  • To strengthen the capacity & leadership of grassroots gender organizations.

  • To ensure accessible, sustainable, quality healthcare services and equitable healthcare financing to address gender-based health issues towards better health outcomes of Midsayapeños.

  • To launch sustainable programs leading to the promotion of quality education.
  • To strengthen the implementation of programs on Early Childhood Care and Development.

  • Improve the livelihood of the community members.
  • Promote sustainable development and enhance the well-being of the community.

  • To foster awareness on environment and natural resources management, climate change adaptation, and disaster risk reduction and management.
  • To build resilience and reduce vulnerability to disaster.

  • To safeguard women’s rights and provide accessible services to vulnerable groups.
  • To promote, protect, and fulfill women’s rights to protection from abuse, neglect, exploitation, and violence.
  • To eliminate all forms of violence against women and girls in the public and private spheres.

  • To have a modern, friendly, and safe space in evacuation centers with complete amenities and facilities suitable and responsive to the needs of women, children, and all other genders.
